Enjoy great savings on your shopping with "Tamba Coin"!

"Tamba Coin" is a convenient electronic money exclusively usable at shops within Tamba City. 1 Tamba Coin is equivalent to 1 yen. Operated by the Tamba Commercial Cooperative Association, Tamba Coin allows you to make payments using a dedicated smartphone app or card. It can be used at over 200 locations in Tamba City, including supermarkets, restaurants, and retail stores.  

Starting April 1, 2026, you will receive a certain percentage of Tamba Coins back as a reward when you shop using Tamba Coin.

• At local support stores (Tamba City designated businesses): You will receive a 10% reward on your payment amount.
• At participating stores such as large-scale local stores and directly managed stores of major national chains: You will receive a 5% reward on your payment amount.  

Important Notes

• The maximum reward you can receive is up to 10,000 yen worth of Tamba Coins.
• Payments made with "Reward Points," "Furusato Nozei Points," or "Tamba Living Support Coins" (Tamba Coins issued through the Tamba Living Support Gift Certificate Project) are not eligible for rewards.
• To prioritize using reward-eligible Tamba Coins, please go to the settings, find "Priority of money/points to use" (利用するマネー・ポイントの優先順位), and select "From those with fewer usable stores" (使えるお店が少ないものから).
• Please note that Tamba Coins will be automatically consumed starting from those with the closest expiration dates.
• The reward campaign will end as soon as the budget limit is reached.
• The expiration date for the rewarded Tamba Coins is February 28, 2027.

To use Tamba Coin, you need to download the dedicated smartphone app called "chiica." Please install it from the link below.  

You can purchase Tamba Coins at the Tamba Commercial Cooperative Association, the Youme Town service counter, Nakahyogo Shinkin Bank, and local authorized retailers.

• Tamba Coins can only be purchased with cash. Credit cards and other electronic money are not accepted. (However, they are scheduled to become available for purchase at Seven Bank ATMs around June 2026.)
• At some retailers, certain products (such as tobacco or groceries) may not be eligible for payment with Tamba Coin. Please check with the store in advance.
• Tamba Coins cannot be used to purchase highly cashable items such as gift certificates or securities.
• When using Tamba Coins to pay taxes or usage fees at the City Hall, branch offices, or community centers, you may only use the amount you have purchased yourself (purchased balance).
• Nakahyogo Shinkin Bank does not process applications for issuing new Tamba Coin cards.
• Local retail and charging stores sell coins during their regular business hours. Depending on how crowded the store is, it may take some time to process your purchase. Please follow the instructions of the store staff.
