令和8年度教育委員会コラム(LINE)

丹波市には現在8人のALTの先生がいます。

先生方は丹波市で生活し、様々な場面でこどもたちの英語学習のお手伝いをして下さいます。

8人のALTのうち、9月から新しく着任された5人の先生がインタビューに答えて下さいました。

【インタビュー内容】

1. あなたの出身地を教えてください。（国及び州または都市名）
2. あなたの趣味を教えてください。
3. 丹波市の第一印象を教えてください。（あなたの故郷とどんなところが違いますか？）
4. あなたは、小学校や中学校のとき、どんなこどもでしたか？
5. これから、丹波市でALTとして働くにあたり、どんなことが楽しみですか？

1. I am from Kansas which is a state in America.
   （アメリカのカンザス州出身です。）
2. I enjoy weightlifting, snow and water skiing, camping, hiking, baseball, and playing the saxophone.
   （ウェイトトレーニング、スノーボードや水上スキー、キャンプ、ハイキング、野球、そしてサックスを演奏するのが好きです。）
3. I really like Tamba city so far!  Tamba is also very beautiful. I really like the rivers and the tree covered mountains. Kansas is very flat and does not have any mountains so seeing mountains everyday is very exciting for me. I also really like the trains in Tamba and in Japan as a whole. In America there are almost no passenger trains so being able to ride trains to easily is a huge bonus for me!
   （今のところ、丹波市がとても気に入っています！丹波はとても美しい場所でもあります。川や木々に覆われた山々が本当に好きです。カンザス州はとても平坦で山が全くないので、毎日山を見られるのは私にとってとてもワクワクする体験です。また、丹波の電車、そして日本全体の電車もとても気に入っています。アメリカには旅客列車がほとんどないので、気軽に電車に乗れるのは私にとって大きな魅力です！）
4. In both middle and elementary school I was very lively and energetic. I really loved school and my favorite subjects were math and science. I also really loved playing in my middle school band and participating in the science club.
   （小学校も中学校も、とても活発で元気なこどもでした。学校が大好きで、得意な教科は算数と理科でした。また、中学校の吹奏楽部や理科部での活動も本当に楽しんでいました。）
5. I am really excited to meet the students and staff of each of my schools. I am very excited to get to know everyone and help foster a love of English and cultural exchange between Japan and America. I am also really eager to improve my Japanese language ability and learn more about Japan as a whole.
   （配属先の各学校の生徒や教職員の方々と出会えることをとても楽しみにしています。皆さんと親しくなり、英語への興味を育み、日本とアメリカの文化交流を促進できることを大変楽しみにしています。また、自分の日本語力を向上させ、日本という国についてもっと深く学びたいと強く願っています。）

1. I am from the United States of America.  The state of Michigan. 
   （私はアメリカ合衆国のミシガン州出身です。）
2. My hobbies include listening to music, cooking and eating delicious food, and spending time with friends.
   （趣味は、音楽を聴くこと、料理や美味しいものを食べること、そして友達と過ごすことです。）
3. My first impression of Tamba is the people are very nice, and the views are very beautiful.
   （丹波での第一印象は、人々がとても親切で、景色がとても美しいということです。）
4. In Elementary and Middle school I was an active child that participated in many sports. 
   （小学校と中学校の頃は、多くのスポーツに参加する活発なこどもでした。
5. As an ALT I am looking forward to teaching kids new things about the world outside of Japan, and making new friends.  And I hope to learn a lot from my students and co-workers too.
   （ALTとして、こどもたちに日本以外の世界について新しいことを教え、新しい友達を作ることを楽しみにしています。また、生徒たちや同僚からもたくさん学べればと思っています。）

1. I am from Texas in United States of America.
   （私はアメリカ合衆国のテキサス州出身です。）
2. I like to read, travel, try new coffee shops and cafes, and participate in all kinds of sports and exercise!
   （読書や旅行、新しいコーヒーショップやカフェ巡り、そしてあらゆる種類のスポーツや運動をするのが好きです！）
3. Tamba is about the same size as my hometown but we do not have mountains so that is very different! It is so beautiful. I am use to hot weather.
   （丹波は私の故郷とほぼ同じくらいの大きさですが、山がないのでそこが大きな違いですね！とても美しい場所です。私は暑い気候に慣れています。）
4. In elementary and middle school I was more of a quiet but outgoing child. I liked to learn and read, and I always wanted to get the best grades.
   （小学校と中学校の頃、私はどちらかといえば静かですが、人付き合いの好きなこどもでした。勉強や読書が好きで、いつも最高の成績を取りたいと思っていました。）
5. I am looking forward to making friends with my coworkers and getting to know my students while also getting involved in the community. I hope I can teach the kids that although it may be difficult, learning English can be fun! 
   （同僚と友達になり、生徒たちと親しくなりながら、地域社会にも積極的に関わっていけることを楽しみにしています。英語学習は難しいこともあるかもしれませんが、楽しいものになるということを、こどもたちに伝えられればと思っています！）

1. I am from Canada and lived in Ottawa, the capital city of Canada, before coming to Japan. I was originally born in China.
   （私はカナダ出身で、日本に来る前はカナダの首都オタワに住んでいました。生まれは中国です。）
2. I love spending time in nature. I enjoy stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), camping, road trips, and yoga. I also love visiting temples and learning to make shojin ryori (traditional Buddhist cuisine).
   （自然の中で過ごすのが大好きです。スタンドアップパドルボード（SUP）、キャンプ、ロードトリップ、ヨガを楽しんでいます。また、お寺を訪れたり、精進料理の作り方を学んだりすることも大好きです。）
3. My first impression of Tamba was how warm and welcoming everyone was.I also love how closely life here is connected with nature. Tamba feels peaceful, clean, and well cared for, and the beautiful mountains and countryside immediately made an impression on me.
   （丹波での第一印象は、皆さんがとても温かく迎えてくれたことです。また、ここの生活が自然と密接につながっている点も大好きです。丹波は穏やかで清潔、そして手入れが行き届いており、美しい山々や田園風景にすぐに心を奪われました。）
4. I really liked my teachers, so I was a very motivated student and worked hard at school. Outside the classroom, I also enjoyed taking part in many school activities and sometimes hosted large school events. These experiences gave me opportunities to meet students of different ages and people from other schools, and taught me a lot beyond the classroom.
   （先生方が本当に好きだったので、やる気のある生徒で、学校では一生懸命勉強していました。授業以外でも、多くの学校活動に参加したり、時には大規模な学校行事を主催したりして楽しんでいました。こうした経験を通じて、さまざまな年齢の生徒や他校の生徒たちと出会う機会を得ることができ、教室の外でも多くのことを学びました。）
5. Learning English opened a window to the wider world for me, and I hope I can help open that window for my students too. Most of all, I hope they can enjoy learning English and have fun using it. I believe the curiosity and joy they discover through learning can stay with them long after they leave the classroom.
   （英語を学ぶことは、私にとって広い世界への窓を開いてくれました。生徒たちにとっても、その窓を開くお手伝いができればと思っています。何よりも、生徒たちが英語を学ぶことを楽しみ、英語を使うことを楽しんでくれることを願っています。学習を通じて発見する好奇心や喜びは、教室を離れた後も長く彼らの中に残るものだと信じています。）
